Communication and dissemination

Eurostat’s communication and dissemination strategy respects a number of specific principles, such as objectivity, impartiality, statistical confidentiality and accessibility, which are laid down in Regulation N°223/2009 on European statistics and in the European Statistics Code of Practice. In particular, a general principle of our strategy is the provision of free access to the full range of our products and services via our website.

Pre-release access: All users have equal access to statistical releases at the same time. Privileged pre-release access is limited, controlled and publicised. The ‘Protocol on impartial access to Eurostat data for users’ sets out how Eurostat fulfils its responsibilities in this respect and gives details on the conditions of pre-release access.
